Combined cutting lines

Due to their complexity the combined cutting lines are made to order. In fact the specifications required by the customer are studied in great detail.

These lines are usually employed by users who do not require high production rates and therefore enable the simultaneous or separate execution of the crosswise cut at a certain measurement (cropping) and the lengthwise cut with re-winding of the strips (slitting).

They are manufactured for the following characteristics:

  • Cutting widths of 1250 and 1500 mm;
  • Coil weights of 7 and 12 tons;
  • Thickness of 0.2 mm to 1.2 mm (light-weight lines)
  • Thickness of 0.4 mm to 2.5 mm of soft steel and 1.5-2 mm of stainless steel (heavy-duty lines).

The combined lines are the combination of a crosswise cutting line and the re-winding part of a lengthwise cutting line where the crosswise cutting mode is the Start-Stop type, with drives in direct current for a cutting speed of 30 m/min and cutting tolerances of +/- mm 0.2. The cutting speed in the re-winding mode is also limited to a maximum speed of 30 m/min.

For the crosswise cut part, the lines are available in two configurations:

Combined cutting lines
LTB
with straightener and compact crosswise shears for normal materials such as galvanised, pickled, oiled metal and so on;
RTB with separate straightener with continuous infeed, loop control and feeder with shears, more suitable for cutting materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and pre-painted metal.

For the re-winding part, the lines are available in two configurations:

Combined cutting lines

With felt presses for normal materials such as galvanised, pickled, oiled metal and so on;

Combined cutting lines

With roll presses, more suitable for cutting materials such as stainless steel, aluminium and pre-painted metals.

The lines may be made up of:

  • Light-weight decoilers, with brake and trestle support plus manual expansion spindle suitable for sheet metal cutting requirements;
  • Heavy-duty decoilers with drive and raised spindle plus hydraulic expansion, equipped with hydraulic loading cradle;
  • Straightening unit with 5. 7 and 11 rolls;
  • Roll infeed unit;
  • Lengthwise cutting unit with circular blades, manual shifting system and rapid roll-blocking system. In alternative these may be built in the straighteners (LTB configuration) and in the feeders (RTB configuration);
  • Mechanical guillotine type shears for the crosswise cut;
  • Loading and stacking devices with lengths from 3000 mm to 6000 mm;
  • Light-weight and heavy-duty coilers, with drive, raised spindle and hydraulic expansion;
  • Coil unloading devices with turntables or hydraulic unloading cradles.
