F-Deal Tooling has been developed to withstand the more severe
punching conditions, typically Stainless Steel, hot rolled Mild Steel and other thick gauge materials.
When
punching Stainless Steel, a phenomenon known as cold
welding can appear, a tendency for the material to deposit itself on the
punch tip sides causing the
punch to possibly jam in the component. Like wise on soft material such as Aluminium and Copper the same phenomenon can occur.
Tooling made from
Amada's standard high speed steel is extremely resilient to wear and is able to maintain a sharp cutting edge through continuous use. The added F-dealing process applied to the tool while the tool is manufactured eliminates the cold
welding phenomenon.
F-Deal Tooling will have a longer tool life in difficult
punching conditions thus producing savings on tooling costs and boosting
machine productivity.
